6 POINT MOORING SYSTEM ON ATLANTIC CARRIER VESSEL

Atlas Winch & Hoist Services Ltd was contracted by Atlantic Marine & Aviation to
supply and commission a full 6 Point Mooring System on their vessel the ‘Atlantic
Carrier’.

Atlas’s supplied all the Winches, Hydraulic Power Units, Deck Sheaves, Swivelhead
Fairleads, Running Line Monitors & Bridge Control complete with CCTV monitoring
on each winch.

Atlas’s experienced engineers also commissioned the winches and controls once
installed on the vessel, this included plumbing of hydraulics, Cabling & Wiring of
Controls, RLMs & CCTV System. The engineers then carried out a full function test
of the system as well as attending a full sea trail of the operation of the system.

SHORE BASED CABLE PULL IN - DENMARK

Atlas Winch & Hoist Services Ltd was contracted by Maritech to supply cable pulling
equipment for the Cobra Interconnector HV Project in Endrup, Denmark.
Atlas’s equipment was used onshore to pull a 1,500m long subsea power cable
ashore from the pipe laying barge. The winch was positioned approximately 150m
from the shoreline and a large excavator was used to secure the winch in position.
The 15Tonne Tensioner was used on the barge to help deploy the cable.
Atlas supplied an experienced winch operator along with the equipment. The
operator controlled the speed of the winch and used the Load Monitoring System
to monitor the line pull on the cable throughout the pull.
